The Physician Assistant works collaboratively with all staff, Advanced Practice Providers and Physicians to assess and coordinate the care of these complex patients. The PA is a multidisciplinary resource and APP leader for this patient population referred to the interventional lab for procedures, with a primary focus on the pre- and post-procedural management of outpatient procedures. The PA supports and participates in clinical research as appropriate and quality improvement in the interventional lab including patients having structural heart procedures. The PA provides leadership and program development in this rapidly advancing and innovative sub-specialty within Cardiology. To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: Required Qualifications Five (5)+ years experience in the care and management of the interventional cardiology patient population across the care continuum. Experience in a pre and post-cardiovascular procedural setting specific to interventional cardiology. Familiarity with structural heart procedures. Familiarity with current practice guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Be able to practice in a remote capacity. Preferred Qualifications Inpatient and outpatient patient care coordination experience. Intra-op procedural experience including advanced therapies (Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, ECMO, etc). Advanced heart failure and adult congenital clinical experience. Current work in an academic medical center setting. Prior personnel management experience; support of various care team members. Experience in outpatient patient management that may have included clinical triage, post-procedure symptom management, and/or medication reconciliation. Familiarity with EPIC EMR. License/Certification Must hold an active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA). California driverxe2x80x99s license (CDL) if required for position. Must hold current national board certification by first day of work and maintain. Must hold an active and transferable DEA license to California and have evidence of transfer by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Must have completed an AAPA recognized graduate masterxe2x80x99s degree program as a physician assistant. Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day. Hold current AHA BLS as minimum requirement. Hold current AHA ACLS as minimum requirement. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
