Responsibilities The Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a highly qualified Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Specialist to take the position of Director of Research in the ACHD field. The Division of Cardiovascular Diseases is comprised of approximately 130 specialists of which 6 participate in the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Clinic. The ACHD Clinic is part of the Congenital Heart Center which is a multi-disciplinary practice involving physicians from adult and pediatric cardiology, cardiovascular and vascular surgery, as well as medical genetics, circulatory failure, pulmonary hypertension, heart-lung transplant, heart rhythm disorders and devices, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, high risk obstetrics, as well as complex cardiac imaging. The ACHD group has a robust research activity, with over 30 publication yearly. This is a full-time, non-invasive position with a significant allocation to research and the clinical practice. This would include coordinating the research activity in ACHD, participation in the ACHD clinics and echocardiographic laboratory as well as patient care assignments to the ACHD hospital consultative practice. The position carries an academic appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. There is an active educational program which includes teaching learners at all stages of knowledge including the Mayo Medical School, Internal Medicine residency program, Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, and the Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development. Qualifications License / Certification: Physician must be board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, fellowship trained in ACHD, and also eligible for MN medical license. The ideal candidate must be experienced in all facets of ACHD and have a proven record of excellence in research.
