Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Cardiologist to join our teams across the US. This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide the services outlined below. Physician, Cardiology, is assigned to the VA Health Care System, Medical Service, providing comprehensive, efficient, compassionate, high-quality healthcare to all patients, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing clinical care to the patients at VA in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a Staff Physician, Cardiology, the responsibilities include providing medical evaluation and directing overall management of patients in collaboration with other members of health care team.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicatorsPractice within the scope of assigned privilegesComply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the facility and agencyMeet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CMEComply with prescribed record keeping practices in accordance with the rules, regulations and bylawsComply with prescribed information security policy and proceduresInterpersonal relationships – works effectively with patients, families, staff, coworkers and other health care professionalsParticipates in Medical Service educational activities and scheduled meetingsParticipates in research activities with regard to the subspecialty of Internal Medicine, as assignedComply with assigned Peer Reviews and maintaining quality assurance standardsComplete all assigned health record reviews, peer reviews, MAOs, etc., within the identifiedtimeframesClearanceUS Citizen or Permanent Resident CardPass/possess VA Public Trust ClearanceRequired QualificationsDegree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtainedDEA LicenseFor all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United StatesCurrent BLS certification.
